The play, KHEL EK RAAT KA, was written by Melih Cevdet Anday, one of the leading Turkish playwrights. The play won ?lhan ?skender Prize, and was performed by the State Theatre in 1971-1972 and won the Best Play of the Year award by Ankara Art Lovers Foundation.
The play starts with two people encountering each other by coincidence on a snowy winter night. The Man invites the Woman, who has a baby in her arms, to his home, after learning that she has nowhere to go.
Melih Cevdet Anday, in his play explores the lives of people through their expectations which often come to nothing. He brings to the fore their inconsistencies, hesitations, their unhappiness due to heartbreak, melancholy, anger, rare moments of happiness and consciously planned "games.”
